Hello All,
-Setup-
2009 g8 gt with LSA
1200cc injectors/ Flex fuel sensor
I'm currently diving into tuning. I'm working with a tuner to finish up my current tune, but unfortunately my confidence is not high. When i got the car back it was SUPER rich (.58 Lambda) with 91 and ran horrible at WOT. I was told I could only run ethanol, which seemed strange since i had a flex fuel sensor and the car ran fine on 91 before. I worked with the tuner and we got the 91 tune somewhat dialed in. I added ethanol yesterday and noticed it was running much leaner with only 38% ethanol content. My concern is when he leaned up the tune for the 91, it affected the fueling for the ethanol as well.

My question-
With a flex fuel sensor, should the lambda change so drastically when ethanol is added? I was under the assumption it would try to keep similar fueling when ethanol is added, hence flex fuel. On 91 my Lambda is .69@WOT and on just %40 ethanol its .80@WOT. It seems like a big difference. What would cause the delta between 91 and Ethanol? Am I missing something, can you control the ethanol fueling separate from gas fueling?
Any insight is welcome. Thank you.
