We have the ability to mess with these tables, but what do they do? I have seen that the table for Max values some of you set to 100 and the Min table get set to 90. If I were to do this, what exactally am I doing to the car??

Setting the TCC tables this way eliminates the TCC slip. You will have to raise the lock up speeds because it will feel like it is shifting into another gear (firm)

If you mean shift times, that's been set to 0.275 secs. The factory settings for those TCC tables are all over the place! I am going to go with those settings and see what they are like for a while. Thanks for the info Russ....

not to hijack, but assume im using the 90-100 min-max tables. how much do i bump up my lockup speeds to get it in a happy medium?
I went all out on mine. Don't follow my lead though>>
This is extremely nice if you have a high stall TC, like a 3750 rpm stall which I had, otherwise if you have a stock TCC, I just recommend leaving it stock.

David, I've been noticing you have a really high stall TC, what did you do to keep it locked on the freeway?Originally Posted by dlclarkiiRegal

........I ended up putting mine back to stock a while ago. Forgot all about this thread Was too nervous about what it was doing. Never found out what the "Lock up speed was" or for that matter, "Where to find it". Just couldn't get a grip on what this one was doing so I went back to stock.
i think by tcc lockup speeds, he means the apply/release speeds?
i raised mine so that i wouldn't feel it at around 40 mph.
If I were to put my max table to 100 and the min to 90 what would you do with this table?
Attachment 3850
Maybe now I'll get what's going on...
I would first copy the 4th gear lock up row over the 3rd. Then copy the 4th gear release row over the 3rd. Just make sure that the apply speed is 2 kph higher than the shift point speed, and have the TCC unlock 2 kph higher than the downshift speeds.
On the V6 cars, I usually set the TCC min table to 50. This smooths the TCC lock up.

How is this Russ?

Thanks for looking at these. If this is right I think I might be getting it....
Nobody ever said this stuff was easy
Paul
The TCC duty cycle tables are ok. If your want the TCC to lock harsher, raise the min table. I also would copy the TCC 4th gear lock up speed row to the 3rd gear lock up speed row. Then also copy the TCC 4th gear release speed row to the 3rd gear release row.

Well, this feels a lot better than the last time I tried this! And with better understanding of these tables now I shift at the higher RPM every time I push the higher RPM. Was having a lot of issues with the car shifting at 5800-6000 when I wanted a shift of 6600. Would only go to 6600 sometimes but with this thread I've figured that out too(found conflicts between 3 tables!!).....thanks a bunch Russ, AS ALWAYS
Had to add, the car feels awesome!! Shift points, pressures, shift time, fueling, idle, all around it's feeling great. Oh crap...something is gonna' break, I know it ha ha hahha hahah a
So Paul, how's it going?
Did you get it dialed in?

Got all the shift points feeling great! All of you guys have been a tremendous help. I just love how it's shifting right now. Runs to the 6600 that I want to see on the shifts, TCC locks in a nice range on the highway and setting the min to 50 for my application worked perfectly!! Just awesome
Paul
What kind of mods do you have done to want to see 6600 rpm?
I've got my shift points set for 5870 and I shift at like 6300 or so (My tranny is stock and has 141k miles on it. The Lord has been very kind to me. )
Anywhoo, just curious. Thanks!

I didn't have any problems keeping it locked on the freeway, 4th (OD) was fine, it was 3rd that was a bitch. I wound up keeping it locked continuous in 3rd gear and only releasing it above a certain RPM in 4th (OD). So bascially I drove around town with it continuously locked, only allowing it to release in 4th at high speeds. HTH.Originally Posted by PDXGTP
