Silverado 4.8l to 6.0l LQ4, Truck Norris Cam, First Start

Hi,

Thank you for your time.

I just swapped my 2003 Silverado 4.8l engine with a LQ4 engine that i replaced the camshaft with a Truck Norris camshaft, new LS7 lifters, pushrods, oil pump, etc.... I have 1.7:1 adjustable Roller Rockers(not installed) but the stock rockers are still on, thought it might make the first start and logging a little easier.

Which brings me to my question...... i did not switch the wiring harness,,,, i swapped over my old intake manifold and other components, same computer, etc... from advice i got on HP Tuners.

I there anything i can do to this file to make it run better on first start..... or am i better off... running like it is and logging some data.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I still have stock injectors/fuel pump and know i need to go bigger, plan to very soon.... i dont plan on driving anwhere close to aggressively until then.... really just trying to get it up and running, then go from there.

Before anyone "DM" someone for help hopefully they check out the post history. Looks like Mikeloko only occasionally comes on here to ask for help, and even then, doesn't supply enough info to give him help. Doesn't ever seem to offer anything constructive on here. If someone does communicate offline, think twice about paying any money.

I have tons of time dynoing LSX cars. Skip those rockers. I've never had a set NOT loose power. Too much mass. They always nose over a few hundred RPM before the stock rockers would.

I also only have ever used stock rockers
stock, no trunion 'upgrade' either..

This kit is very nice if you feel like you just have to do something. It won't make anything actively worse than stock and adds a lot of rigidity. Uses the same caged needle bearings as the regular trunnion 'upgrade' kits but the shafts are made of something that will actually survive needles running directly on them, unlike any kind of heat treated 4140 or the like.

Stock(type) rocker bodies are the best you can get up to .625ish lift and 400lbs open pressure.
