    Need some Tunes

    2013 GMC Yukon 5.3 engine 6l80 transmission 3.08 gear ratio 4x4 STOCK

So I've been having issues with tuning this Yukon I've tried several different settings and over a month of constant changes but not happy with the results don't know why but the stock tune is the only tune that lets this thing drive the best as soon as I make any changes to the transmission tune it accelerates so much slower. So I've only made 4 changes in the stock tune and that's the one I will link below along with my log file of driving and some pulls it's probably around 15-20 minutes long. I've been questioning if there's something going on with the transmission maybe slipping might be something else idk? I've changed and flushed the fluid/filter recently it was dark not black and has no smell of burnt whatsoever. One of the biggest giveaways from what I've heard is turning off the torque lock up until 5th and 6th gears it should accelerate better but not in my case it's so much slower lock up is the only thing that lets it accelerate decent but I'm looking for a tune that lets this thing drive better it shifts good no weird issues that I know of. What's you're input on this? Maybe if anyone is able to get me a tune for this Yukon that would make a difference?

Did you put a taller tire on it and adjust for that? It looks like it.

Add Knock Retard and Air mass to the channels. It looks like its removing timing from probably Knock retard.

That tire is pretty tall for 3.08 gears.

Putting larger diameter tires on a vehicle with 3.08 gears effectively gears it even higher.

That made it the equivalent of a 2.97 gear with a stock tire size.

I would change the up/down shifting for sure. But it could use some different spark and fueling changes too.

    Great for 1 mile racing.

This is one of those that i would just raise the 5-6 shift so it never happens.
Even running 5th gear the rpms would be a tad too low for what id want in a heavy 4x4.

you'd have to point me in the right direction of how much value in change I would make it as?

Extend the shifts out in all the gears. The earlier it shifts the more it is going to lug the engine with the converter locked. You need the torque multiplication the lower gears provide. And I know you said it feels better with the converter locked but I bet it has a lot of KR in the lower hears with the gear/tire combo especially if you are using 87 octane fuel. I see it all the time with 3.08 geared vehicles. I would keep the converter unlocked in 1-4 and only lock up in 5th at 50 mph and up and 6th at 60 or 65 mph and up.

Also there has been nothing done in the engine tune to improve performance.

yeah I went back to stock tune because I kept having issues I must not be doing something right I literally have done 17 different tunes not happy with them a few of them makes the yukon run bad, and i believe a few others makes the idle when slowing down almost stall so I really need the help to get this thing driving and running good. Tried copying the same tune from my 2011 gmc Sierra 1500 with everything just makes things worse even knowing it's the exact same drivetrain other than the yukon doesn't have 4x4 low that's the only difference I could tell.

Take a look at this tune I changed a few things in the knock retard just copied from my 2011 gmc sierra 1500 5.3, 6l80, 3.08 ratio this is stuff that was used from a tuner i had my truck done at. And a few things in fuel didn't touch spark don't know anything about making changes on that.

Also i will include the tune I've been running in my sierra 1500 for the last 2 years and i'm very happy with the way it drives.

I don't see much of any engine tuning in that 2011 file. Mainly just some PE changes and upping the idle speed. And setting the PE Throttle Enable to 0 is pretty dumb. Entire spark tab is stock. 2 minor changes in the retard tab. Lots of questionable transmission changes IMO. If you had that done at a tuner I hope he didn't charge you much if anything. I'm using this as a compare file. All the segments match yours except for the speedometer segment probably because it had a different stock tire size. It is still a 3.08 gear.

I only paid the guy $250 and originally I came to him to see if a slight tune on the trans would help it going up hills as it felt gutless no power at all and would go into lockup going up a hill and i would have to make it downshift to get up the hill. That tune made a world of a difference on that truck and that dod system has been disabled for the last 50k -70k miles anyway so that was not the cause. trans is probably getting worn out anyhow.

How does someone get away with charging $250 and not do any engine tuning at all.

Shit, people used to charge to load stolen "canned" tunes they found on the internet. That has lead to some interesting tuner signatures. Pretty sure the guy that originally "tuned" my 2002 silverado back in 2004 was doing that with ls1edit. That is what convinced me to buy my own tuning software that same year in order to avoid scammers.
