    2007 Corvette LS2 Cat Delete

    Good Evening everyone...

I recently Purchased a C6 vette and have begun to make a few minor modifications. I have added a Snake charmer cold air intake and added long tube headers with aftermarket X pipe. The exhaust mod did away with the cats. In my research I decided I should probably monitor the exhaust with a wide band and added a AEM 30-0334. Everything is installed and working properly. The car runs good and is a lot louder than I really wanted , but it's a vette, so let'er eat right...

Lets get to the nitty gritty of my post. I'm trying to make 1 modification to the tune at this point to cut off the rear O2 sensors. I really just want the yellow submarine on the dash to cut off.

I found some really inspiring information about Hp Tuners and decided this was probably the desirable platform for all the modifications I have made and may make in the future.

With that being said I'm a greenhorn with absolutely no tuning experience what so ever. I downloaded and read the startup guides which didn't really help with my current issue. I have searched the forums for several hours with no results that really applied to my particular situation. Terminology may have been my downfall with my searches. Surely someone else has posted about a similar problem.

    Thanks for any help.

My recommendation is put cats back on it. They stink like hell when you take the cats off. And there's very little power to be gained compared to high flow cats. And it's a federal offense. Not that that seems to stop anyone.

Have you purchased the HP Tuners MPVI3 yet? If not, that'll be step 1.

edcmat-l1 is correct about the issues with removing the cats...it makes the exhaust stinky and loud. I did a dyno test on my 2012 Camaro years ago. It only picked up 6.5 hp on my stock car. Not much to get excited about.

    Thank you for the response.

Yes I have purchased the MPVI3. I was able to pull up the dtc's etc. but did not see any of the info I have found in other post that discuss disabling the rear O2's. I may look into a way to add cats back on it for the future.

For now is there a way to disable the rear O2's to clear the codes?

    Thanks again.

The stuff you're looking for has been removed from recent versions of the software.

Thanks everyone for your help and advise. I guess I will be shopping for some high flow cats.

My 496 RWHP LS6 made like 2 more hp taking the cats off.

My 630 rwhp Trailblazer made like 4 more rwhp taking the cats off. Both I tried while still strapped to the dyno.

It's worth having cats just to keep that stink off your clothes when your around it.

You need to take the compliance training in order to get that unlocked. https://www.hptuners.com/emissions/

I think you need to download an older version of HPT also. Then install on a different laptop to edit the tune...or you can use the same laptop, you just need to remove the current version 1st.

Any scans from the current Vcm scanner will not load into the OLDER scanner.

Brother you can install as many versions you want at the same time on the same computer, just gotta trick it. I think I have had up to 4 at one point. Now I am down to two.

Install the older version first. Rename the folder it installed to - something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP Tuners 4.8.7", and then install the new version.

You'll have to recreate the shortcuts to the old on to your desktop.
