Hey all, Name is Steve. I'm new to tuning, trying to learn. I have an extensive background in automotive, but tuning is fairly new to me. Anyways let's dive into this. My car will be "track use only".
I have a 05 Dodge magnum, had a locked-up motor. I pulled a motor from a 07 Ram 2500, went through the engine, verified all internal components were in good shape (motor had roughly 20k on it) and then swapped over the needed parts from the car engine to the new engine. I purchased a kit from AMS racing, cam - Texas speed cam stage 2 non VVT, PAC springs, pushrods, hellcat lifters, timing set, MDS delete and a new oil pump. PHEW!
So, now we are here. I have the engine installed, performed all my relearns. But the engine will not idle, it will start and run with the throttle pressed. I cured all check engine lights that came on after installing and I have been poking around on HP tuners a bit. I have gone in and deactivated the MDS and deactivated the EGR for now.
I have been reading this forum a bit, and I came across one thread where the setup was similar, and one suggestion was to "bump the idle to 800, pull 20% fuel out of injectors or VE table in the idle area between -5/+5, depending on how loopy of an idle you want, and pull about 20% on the torque management table".
I am still learning all of this, and I will give the suggested idea above a try. Is there anything else I should look at or adjust beforehand?
Thanks everyone, I appreciate any and all help
