I usually fire up the laptop before I drive to/from work every day. I have a 50 minute ride, and I usually capture a full 50 minutes of data.
For the last three weeks or so I've been having problems with the scanner disconecting itself while I drive.
It usually happens before I reach 10,000 frames. It happens maybe one out of every two scans.
When it disconencts, it tries multiple times to reconnect, without success.
In order to get it to work, I have to hit the "lightning bolt" disconnect button, and restart the scan through the drop-down menu. It seems as though after I have to restart it like this, there is an even better chance of it dropping out again.
All of my cabling seems tight. This has happened before I had my motherboard swapped out in my COM port post. It seems be a little more frequent now.
I believe ever since I updated to V1.3 a while back, the scanner has taken longer to initialize and pick up data to start scanning. It hasn't been a big deal, just something I noticed. I'm not sure if that's related to this.
Laptop is a Dell Latitude D600. Pentium M (1.5Mhz), 512Mb. McAffee is running, and not "disable-able". Otherwise the system is quiet.
I'm running HPT V1.4 for 2004 GM trucks.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
